Bit-Tech C&C4 Preview
» (August 12, 2009)
Quote from the preview:
"The issue cropped up when we questioned the RPG elements of the
game too, asking the producer what would stop players from
artificially creating situations where they were harvesting XP to
accelerate their persistent profile. This situation actually showed
up at one point in the demonstration we saw, when the AI moved its
MCV next to the player base and there followed a good few minutes
where each base was spewing out the same units over and over in a
perpetual stalemate. The only response we really got to our question
though was a wordy version of “we don’t know yet”. The team is still
investigating the matter of level caps and anti-grind, it seems."
1UP C&C4 Preview » (August 12, 2009)
Quote from the preview:
"To prevent spawn-camping, the respawn mechanic takes the form of a
giant escape pod that drops from the sky and smashes whatever it
lands on, so opponents who try to camp will instead watch their
forces get flattened by above. Additionally, since there is respawn,
victory isn't determined by crushing your opponent - it's from
controlling all of the Tiberium Control Network nodes (a la
Battlefield's capture points) and having your opponent's power tick
down to zero.Another early preview of C&C4."
IncGamers C&C4 Preview
» (August 12, 2009)
Quote from the preview:
"And it all looks very, very good. Units have separate chunks making
up their outer shell, with bits being blown off the bigger units so
that you can see the inner workings for yourself. Explosions are
predictably gorgeous, and seeing all of the old units in this new
engine is a treat. Despite all of this, the pace is considerably
slower and more measured than Red Alert 3. Once again, for
accessibility reasons, you're going to have more time to consider
your moves and options in battle so that you don't feel like things
are out of your control in even the most frenetic of firefights,
according to EA."
Giant Bomb C&C4 Preview » (August 12, 2009)
Quote from the preview: "The multiplayer gameplay in C&C4
will allow for two teams of five to face off in objective-based
matches. One such mode will place a number of control points around
the map, giving defensive players something to guard while offensive
players head out to conquer additional control points. This sounds
like it'll really take advantage of the class-based systems in
place. Additionally, you'll be able to change classes between
spawns, but changing classes will destroy any units you may have on
the battlefield to prevent players from simultaneously controlling
units from different classes."
